Updates...

So this week was a little scary for our family. Starting on Monday night Red started coughing really bad and from experience with Sally's dog it never means anything good when dogs cough. So he continued to cough on Tuesday so on Wednesday we decided to take him to the vet. Kevin took him up there and they did a few xrays and blood work. The xray showed his trachea was closed to the size of a thread which we still cant see how he would still be breathing if it was that small. The vet gave him some antibiotics and said maybe its an infection and she did see fluid in his lungs. She sent him home saying that if he isnt better in a day that we would need to see a specialist to see if he has a collapsed trachea. Kevin has had this dog for all 14 years of his life every where Kevin has gone Red goes so needless to say Kevin was really distraught. It makes it hard for me to think of losing him because that is Mallory's buddy. She cant say many words yet but she can say dog dog and follows him everywhere. He has been coughing alot less and the vet thinks the xray showed it that small because he was coughing at the time they took the picture. So it seems like this time he is fine but it just puts it in perspective that his time with us is limited and we should cherish every minute.

As for Mallory she is so funny now. She loves to be outside and the whole time she is out there all she does is picks up acorns and puts them in a bowl.

So I decided to be Martha Stewart this weekend and bake a cake just felt like i was in the mood for a cake. Everything seemed to be fine I had a piece last night and it was great. I went downstairs this morning and it fell apart. I am including a picture of the cake and a few of Mallory in the last few weeks.
